Case Study: Transforming a Multi-Use Venue with EDC
The Challenge
The client approached us with the need for a highly adaptable audio solution to serve a multi-use venue. The space had to accommodate various audience layouts, from full-room events to intimate presentations in front of a video wall. Compounding the complexity were significant acoustic challenges, including a high reverberation time (RT60 exceeding 6 seconds) and poor speech intelligibility, making clear communication nearly impossible in its current state.
The Problems
The Solutions
Leveraging the advanced beam-shaping capabilities of EDC technology, we designed a system using a combination of SQ90, SS3, and SC60SL speakers. The modular design and software-defined nature of these models allowed us to tailor the system precisely to the venue’s needs.
The Outcome
The client was thrilled with the results, expressing disbelief at the achieved STI performance:
"I would not have believed the STI performance if proved in advance."
The venue now delivers intimate, close-sounding audio, transforming what once sounded like a large, reverberant space into an experience akin to listening in a lounge room. The evenness of coverage and the ability to seamlessly adapt to different modes of use have exceeded the client’s expectations, making the space more versatile and impactful for all types of events.
Kit List
By combining cutting-edge technology, precision engineering, and a user-focused approach, EDC turned a challenging space into an acoustically optimized, multi-functional venue that meets and exceeds the client’s needs.
